About
Savannah Birth & Wellness Center is the oldest free-standing midwifery practice for women’s health in the State of Georgia.
Established in 1987, our state-licensed and nationally accredited center is the only facility in the area employing the Midwifery Model of Care. This approach has offered the Coastal Plains Region an alternative to conventional, clinical, and high-intervention birthing methods, with generations of babies being delivered naturally into the compassionate care of our Certified Nurse Midwives.
Our mission is to deliver outstanding care to women across all ages and diverse backgrounds through the Midwifery Model of Care. Our midwives provide the entire spectrum of client and family-centered care. Starting with educating you and your partner about pregnancy and birth, they provide continuous support for the entire birthing journey.
Board Standards
Clinical Expertise
Our Certified Nurse Midwives bring a wealth of expertise, having completed rigorous programs at accredited Nurse Midwifery schools.
Their extensive experience, totaling over 60 years in midwifery, enriches our care. In Georgia, each midwife is a licensed Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and is nationally certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB), ensuring high standards of care for our clients.
Collaborative Approach
Integrated Health
Our nurse midwives offer full-scope midwifery, supported by our in-house OB/GYN specialists.
They engage in consultations, collaborations, and referrals with other healthcare team members to ensure the delivery of optimal health care. Proudly, our Birth Center has been serving the community for nearly 40 years, and our midwives have held hospital privileges for over 16 years.

The mother’s family is welcome to participate in the pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.
